Well done to the lads at Beast of the East today - i hear it was indeed a Beast
I also hear there was an exciting sprint finish between The Don and Martin
Lots of photos here taken (I think) by James

I'd reckon Martin got an awful fright when Don came past him at the end like that!!
Like Frank, I look forward to hearing all about it - that's some s£%t eating grin on Don in the last photo!!

You should have seen the grimace on my face for the previous 15 minutes before that photo was taken, which thanks to James Bodel's discretion wasn't shown. That was a fierce race and then after all the hardship to finish with a sprint. Apologies Martin for taking advantage of your calf muscle injury

. I have to say James's photos were superb and he was like the guys at the finish line in the Formula One with the placards showing all the info on the lap times, positions, pit times and time to make up. Great turnout from the club for such a difficult race and thanks to Siobhan and all the kids for the much needed support as usual. It was brutal but we tamed the 'Beast'

. But what about that winning time from Colm Turner, who broke the previous best time by a whole 5 minutes and 26 seconds, just incredible. PS: And for those who've forgotten already, Tom Hogan had the same run time as this guy in Carrick, scary stuff.

Great race yesterday- great marshals, well run, tough course but will be marked into my calendar for next year.
As for the Don, the next time he takes advantage of my dodgy calves, he'll be sleeping with the fishes
Seriously though, well done everyone and thanks to Siobhan and the little ones for their support which required a 5am start,
thanks also to James for the time splits along the route and the photos- including the one of me at my best at the finish line (Damn you Don, for making me sprint-could we not have just jogged in??

)
